Mangaluru: Ullal JD(S) candidate withdraws nomination without informing party leaders

Mangaluru, Apr 24: Altaf Kumpala, a leader of SSF, who had filed nomination on JD(S) ticket from Ullal legislative constituency, withdrew the nomination on April 21 without informing party leaders. In addition, he has switched off his mobile phone as per the accusation made by JD(S) leaders.

Altaf Kumpala was active in SSF for many years. Recently, he joined the JD(S) and got B form to contest from Ullal after convincing MLA B M Farooq.

Altaf had filed nomination with the JD(S) councillor of Ullal city municipality and other party leaders. However, he was not seen in campaigning work.

Altaf withdrew the nomination on April 21 without informing party leaders. Information in this regard was put on notice board on April 22. The locals who read the notice, informed the matter to JD(S) leaders. When the leaders tried to contact Altaf, his mobile phone was kept in switched off mode for two days.
