Mangaluru, Apr 24: "The BJP MP and MLAs have become Non Performing Asset (NPA) in the Dakshina Kannada (DK) district," said AICC spokesperson Charan Singh Sapra.

Addressing media at the Congress Bhavan here on Monday April 24, he further said, “They have failed to create any employment for the youth. There is no development in tourism sector. The government has failed to attract any investors to the district. Totally, they have become NPA in the district.

“The BJP has trampled the pride of Karnataka by merging the banks. Vijaya Bank is merged with Bank of Baroda to save a few fraudulent industrialists. Vijaya Bank was in profit. The BJP leaders in the district without opposing the mergers, remained as lame ducks. They failed to convince the prime minister or finance minister on the merger of banks,” he said.

He also added, “Though the BJP announced Narayana Guru Development Corporation, the government has not allotted funds for the same. To attract votes of a particular community, they announced the formation of the corporation. They have betrayed the people of the district.

“If Congress is elected to power in the state, we will restore the pride of Karnataka. The Congress is the party which is fighting for truth. The Congress always stood by its promises.

“The BJP's polarisation politics will not work this time,” he said.
