Khartoum, Jul 7 (IANS): UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will arrive in Khartoum Friday, to hold talks with Sudanese officials on issues between north and south Sudan, the official SUNA news agency reported.
Ban Ki-moon's talks would focus on progress of the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and issues of differences between north and south Sudan.
The UN secretary-general would then leave to Juba, capital of South Sudan, to participate in the declaration of South Sudan's independence July 9.
South Sudan would officially declare its independence according to the results of the referendum on self-determination for South Sudan, conducted Jan 9, 2011, during which more than 98 percent of the southerners voted for separation.
