Udupi: PM Modi, UP CM Yogi Adityanath to campaign in coastal districts

Udupi, Apr 24: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath will arrive at Byndoor on April 26 to campaign and take part in a public meeting in support of the BJP candidates in the assembly elections. On May 4, PM Modi will arrive in Udupi and hold a public meeting at Mulky. This information was shared by Udupi district BJP chief secretary Kutyaru Naveen Shetty.

In a press conference that was held at the BJP information centre here, Naveen said, “Yogi will cover Byndoor and Kundapura legislative assembly constituencies and Modi’s meeting will be related to Udupi, Kaup, Karkala and Dakshina Kannada districts."

“Maha Prachara Abhiyan will be held in Udupi on April 25 and 26. The Karnataka election campaign is going on throughout the state. BJP has taken this election seriously and has made various plans till May 10. From the work on nomination papers, we have marched till the election campaigning. We have organised different types of activities in all legislative constituencies of our district. Contacting beneficiaries, campaigning in colonies and road shows are also being held," he said.

“Praveen Dharekar, MLC of Maharashtra will garland local statues in Byndoor on the morning of April 25. In the evening, there will be a mammoth road show. He will also partake in the special meeting on April 26," Naveen said.

“Vijendra Gupta, opposition leader of Delhi legislative assembly, is discharging duties as election in-charge of Kundapura. He will hold road shows, meeting of beneficiaries and community gatherings," he said.

“P L Verma, union minister of state for cooperative and north eastern states development, will arrive for the Udupi Maha prachara meeting and will flag off the programme by garlanding the statue of late Dr V S Acharya. He will also visit the houses of senior leaders Somashekhar Bhat and Gujjadi Prabhakara Nayak. In the evening, a road show will be held from Santhekatte to Ashirwad. All the candidates, local leaders and MLAs will take part," Naveen said.

“Social welfare minister Kota Srinivas Poojary will partake in the campaign that will be held at Kaup. He will also organise meetings with SC and ST community people, beneficiaries and communities. Maha Prachara Abhiyan will be held at Karkala also,” he said.

Satyananda Nayak, secretary of district office, Srinidhi Hegde, convener of district media and Shivakumar Ambalpady were present.
