Mangaluru: Comprehensive development done with Rs 2250 crore grant in north – Dr Bharat Shetty

Mangaluru, Apr 25: BJP candidate from Mangaluru north constituency Dr Bharat Shetty released 'Pragathi Patha' handbook in order to apprise the people of the developmental works done during his tenure.

Speaking on the occasion, Tilak Raj Krishnapura, Mangaluru North Mandala president said, “In the last five years, developmental works have been done in the north constituency by Dr Bharat Shetty with a grant of Rs 2250 crore. The important ones are the concretization of main and inner roads, development of fundamental infrastructure, development of religious centres, drinking water projects, beautification of the city and developments related to tourism.

“In the first year of getting elected as MLA, Bharat Shetty responded to the needs of people during floods. In the following two years when covid pandemic struck the whole world, Shetty provided free food, medicine and ambulances throughout the constituency. In order to make the people aware of his achievements, Pragathi Patha booklet has been released.”

Bharat Shetty said, “I have made an honest attempt to create facilities for the people of my constituency during flood and covid situations. I have brought around Rs 2250 crore grants and given priority to roads, drinking water, beach tourism, park development, hitech bus stand, underground drainage system, development of ponds, waste processing unit, circle and junction development. I have used the grant for MUDA and Smart City also.

“Three illegal slaughter houses were confiscated under anti-cow slaughter law. Government schools were adopted and developed. The work of Kavoor pond and Kana-Bala road is in progress. At a cost of Rs 20 crore, development works were done, Rs 5 crore was spent on upgrading Surathkal junction, Rs 3.5 crore spent on Honnakatte junction and Rs 5 crore on Kottara Chowki junction.

Electrical crematorium was constructed in Surathkal, Sarvajna Circle established, Gurpur bridge constructed, Muller Patna bridge built and Pacchanady railway bridge constructed.”

Sharath Shetty, Sandeep Pacchanady, Rajesh Kottary, Krishna Shetty Kadaba, Mahesh Murthy Suratkal, Shwetha Poojary, Bharath Raj Krishnapura, Vittal Shetty, Nayana Kotian, Varun Chowta, Shobha Rajesh and Ashok Shetty were present.
