Dubai, Apr 26: Yakshagana Abyasa Kendra UAE and Yakshadruva Patla Foundation UAE unit have joined together to present ‘Vishwa Patla Sambrama & Dubai Yakshotsava 2023’ in Dubai on June 11 at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, The Indian High School here. ‘Dashavatara’ Yakshagana ballet will also be presented on the day.
The ticket and invitation release programme was held recently at Fortune Plaza Hotel Banquet Hall in the presence of many community leaders. The said programme was headed by the president of the Dubai unit, Sarvotham Shetty who said that the proposed programme will have Sadashiva Shetty Kanyana, the honorary president of main trustee Patla Foundation along with Harish Shetty Aikala who is the chief convener of the trust. Along with them, there will be dignitaries of all 40 units of Patla Foundation units elsewhere.
The ticket release programme started with prayer recited by Vaishnavi Manohar Shettigar and Prapti Jayanand Pakkala. Dinesh Shetty Kottinja welcomed the audience and briefed on the proposed programme and its essentials.
The organisers revealed the name of those artistes who will take part in the ‘Dashavatara Yakshagana ballet’.
The guest artistes includes Satish Shetty, the founder of Yakshdruva Patla unit who will be the chief of the band along with Gana Visharadha Ravindra Kannadikatte, well-known classical Chende-Maddla exponents Padmanabha Upadyaya and Chaitanyakrishna Padyana, designers of colourful costumes Gangadhar Shetty Kinnigoli, Nithin Kampala and Manoj Shettigar Haleangadi who will actively take part in the event.
Guru of UAE Yakshagana Abyasa Kendra, Shekar Shettigar who is also the director of ‘Dashavatara’, briefed on the important aspects related to the proposed Yaskshagana ballet and detailed the stories considered to be part of the show.
Sarvotham Shetty, Harish Sherigar, Harish Bangera, Puttige Vasudev Bhat, Nagaraj Rao, B K Ganesh Rai, Sudhakar Rao Pejavar, Varadaraj Shettigar, Balakrishna Salian, Manohar Thonse, Sunder Shetty, Sashidhar Nagarajappa, Atmanand Rai, Prabhakar Suvarna Karnire, and Ramanand Shetty were present. The audience wished the best to the forthcoming programme.
Member of Yakshagana Abyasa Kendra, Rajesh Kuthar presented the event while Girish Narayan proposed the vote of thanks.
