Udupi, Apr 28: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi refused to enter the Mahalakshmi temple as he had touched a fish gifted to him by a woman from the fisherwoman community. The incident took place during Rahul's visit to Sri Mahalakshmi temple here in Uchila on Thursday April 27.

A woman had gifted Rahul, a huge sized Kingfish at the end of the fishermen conference. Rahul received the fish with much love and also posed for a photograph with her.

After the conference, he was escorted to visit Sri Mahalakshmi temple, Uchila, a prominent temple of the Mogaveera community. But as soon as he neared the temple entrance, Rahul refused to enter the temple saying that he had touched the fish.

Later, the temple priest and the temple administration committee honoured Rahul in the yard of the temple.

    Poor fisherman lady gave a gift as a token of love. Same love is considered impure in next moment. Agree BJP is good at religious propaganda production and play mind game. It is important to recognize and call out this type of behavior, and to demand that our leaders uphold the true values of religion and use their power to promote the greater good, rather than their own self-interest. Only by rejecting political religious fake attitudes can we build a society that is truly grounded in love, compassion, and justice for all.

    Cleanliness of heart is enough to see and worship God. He is educated and knows about it , But in order to Calm the OWNERS, CONTROLLERS , PROPIETORS and UNDERTAKERS of GOD/GODESS he refused to enter the temple..... Good......!!!     rahulji, it is not at all prescribed in da temple's rules day a person caught/handled a fish cannot enter a temple. u can wash your hand & enter da temple or any worship place , God & gods or goddesses desires your heart clean, not your body clean.
