Kundapur, Apr 29: Bhoja Poojary, who has carved a niche in agriculture and Kambala filed in the area between Saligrama and Kota is a role model to the new generation by following comprehensive agricultural policy.

Bhojanna of Giliyaru has converted three acres of barren land into fertile agricultural fields and is getting high returns. Every year after the Khata crop, Bhojanna grows ash gourd and watermelon in his field. This year he has grown the Kolke crop in summer and shown that paddy can be grown in the summer season also. He chose the Kaje breed of paddy of Karkala this time.

Bhojanna uses organic manure for agriculture and has seen good success. Last January, he bought Byadgi chilli plants and planted those over three acres of his farm. However, the crop was lost because of disease. But he covered up the loss with Kolke paddy crop.

Bhoja Poojary is a kambala lover also. He has four buffaloes for the same and has won several awards.

Bhoja Poojary says, “I follow the agricultural system that is taught to us by our forefathers. Everyone should undertake agriculture. I want to contribute to the new generation in a big way.”
