Karkala, Apr 30: The police have arrested three individuals who were illegally transporting explosives in scooters through the Sanoor Murathangadi election check post.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Nagaraja, Shankara, and Raghavendra from Pacchanady in Mangaluru.
On April 28, Karkala police were conducting vehicle checks at the Murathangadi election check post when they stopped two scooters that were heading towards Karkala from Moodbidri.
During the inspection, the police discovered 30 electrical detonators used for explosives. The vehicles and the explosives were confiscated.
The arrested suspects are in judicial custody, and a case has been registered at the Karkala police station.
