Udupi, May 1: MLA Ivan D'Souza praised Vinay Kumar Sorake for being the only politician who provided land rights to people during his student days as a member of the Land Tribunal.

Speaking at an election campaign meeting held at Kanchinadka on Monday, May 1, Ivan said, "Social workers should stand with society. Although Vinay Kumar Sorake was not in power for the past five years, he stood with the people and listened to their issues."

"When casting votes, voters should not fear. This time, everyone should vote for Vinay and make him win by a margin of more than 25,000 votes," he added.

KPCC spokesperson Sudhir Kumar Maroli said, "The BJP government imposed GST even on salt, pushing poor people to the brink of poverty. Now they are using the fake mantra of development to deceive people. The people of Kaup will protect Sorake, who has kept in touch with the highest number of people even after losing the last election."

Sorake said, "By imposing GST on laborers, they have been forced onto the streets. In the election manifesto of Kaup, we have given the highest priority to laborers. Every worker should persuade the voter and work as if they are the candidates of this election."

Present at the event were Rajshekhar Kotian, Naveen Chandra Shetty, Naveen Chandra Suvarna, Shekhar Hejmady, Azeez, and Rameez.
