Beltangady, May 23: Municipal councillor Mohammed Riaz has lodged a police complaint against Beltangady MLA Harish Poonja at the Puttur Town Police Station. In his complaint, Mohammed Riaz alleges that during the BJP's election victory celebrations in Beltangady on May 22, MLA Harish Poonja made a statement accusing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of being responsible for the deaths of 24 individuals. Riaz has also submitted a video of the incident as evidence to the police.
Mohammed Riaz asserts that such allegations against the Chief Minister are unfounded and inappropriate. He has urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation, interrogate Harish Poonja regarding these allegations, and take stringent legal action against the MLA.
