Udupi, May 31: It was a pleasant Wednesday morning as the students who were on vacation mode returned to their second home, the school. The reopening of the schools was held with grandeur in the schools of the Udupi district.
Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna welcomed the students with sweets and flowers at government school, Volakadu. Textbooks and notebooks were also distributed to the students. Children were excited to come to school after two months of vacation. Teachers decorated the school with balloons and leaves. Children were welcomed with roses.
Yashpal Suvarna, MLA Udupi, addressed the gathering and said, "Udupi district is heading towards top position in education. Our school is our pride. The school and teaching staff is the biggest asset to Udupi district. We are trying to collect fund to provide all necessary items to schools and encourage children's education. The government should provide fund for extracurricular activities. Several students pursue education in Udupi, but Udupi never enjoyed the result of it as students travel to other places and work there. I wish all students gathered here will pursue good education and will work for betterment of Udupi sistrict. Everyone must cooperate in creating job opportunities and provide jobs so that we can save our own assets. Education is always my first priority them comes health. The school management committee can approach me whenever they need help. I will come in touch with different donors and will lend help. Every month, I will visit each school, spend time with students and will guide them."
Dr P V Bandary, Psychiatrist, said, “Volakadu Government School is my favorite school in Udupi. This school is a model to all other schools. I would like children to remember six import D’s. Beginning with dream, you must have a dream about what you are going to do in future. Direction, teachers and people who work in the field you wish, will provide you direction. Discipline is another important aspect in life. Determination, when you head towards success, people will try to pull you back, you must have determination that you will succeed. Dedication, if you think mobile phone is disturbing your education, then keep it away from you. Last comes dice, you cannot always get six when you roll the dice, in the same way, you cannot always find success in your life, so you must accept failure. Suicide is not an answer for your failure. Failure is not an end, it is a stepping stone towards success."
Headmistress of the school welcomed the gathering. City municipality member Rajani Hebbar was present.
