Coach Rapes Minor Kho-Kho Player in Goa Hotel

Panaji, Jul 19 (IANS): The police here have arrested a kho kho coach from Uttar Pradesh after he raped a 16-year-old player in a hotel room near Colva beach, 40 km from here Monday.

A police official told IANS that the coach Amit Ragi had lured the minor girl to Goa from Bijnor, in Uttar Pradesh, by telling her that the beach resort destination was hosting a national kho kho selection camp.

"The girl was terrified after the incident and secretly got in touch with a waiter, who informed us. She is a Class 11 student in a government college in Bijnor in UP," a police official attached to the Colva police station said.

Police said the coach had been abusing the girl for over a week in the hotel room.

"We have booked him for rape," police said, adding that the minor girl was now in the custody of her parents.
