Mangalore, Jul 21: AHINDA, a federation of minorities, backward classes and Dalits, has demanded CBI probe into the leakage of Lokayukta report filed by Justice Santhosh Hegde regarding illegal mining in the state.

Speaking at a press meet held on Thursday July 21, Lolaksha, AHINDA DK district unit Working President said that Justice Santhosh Hegde’s statement that he had to use different phones in the last 4 months in fear of his phone being tapped is a more serious issue that that of the report being leaked. By doing so, certain vested interests have violated ‘personal liberty’ law under article 99 section 21 of the Indian constitution.

It was not only an attack on an individual, but on the Lokayukta institution. Unfortunately the government which was supposed to take action against this itself is indicted. He said that those found responsible for illegal mining in the state should resign from their post irrespective of political parties.
 
He further added that Chief Minister Yeddyurappa does not posses any right to continue in the post. He asserted that the present government led by Yeddyurappa be dissolved and a new government be formed.

Lolaksha also said that by practicing its suo moto power, the Supreme Court should insist on judicial activism and the governor of the state should take action on the BJP led state government. He said that now the allegations have to be considered as 'charge sheets' once the Lokayukta report is submitted.

He added that a copy of the demand of AHINDA will be sent to the governor and the president of India as well. Vasudev Bolar, president of AHINDA, Renni D’Souza among others were present.
