Mangalore, Jul 22: A woman lost her life after her salwar dupatta was stuck in the running Grinder in kitchen at Baithar, Harekala village that comes under the Konaje police station limits here on Thursday July 21.

The deceased has been identified as Rukiya(36). The unfortunate incident occurred when the lady was grinding coconut in the grinder and without her knowledge the shawl was trapped in the electrical machine. As a result she had to lose her life.

Husband Salim was into sand business. At around 9.00 am on Thursday he went out to get some dried wood. On his return at 10.30 am he found his wife fighting for life. He immediately cut the shawl which was caught in the grinder and with the help of some neighbours took her to a private hospital in Deralakatte. But the treatments failed to work on Rukiya and by noon she was no more.

She is survived by husband Salim and six children. A case has been registered at Konaje police station.
