New Delhi, Jul 22:  Former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh who was taken in for questioning by the Delhi police in connection to the cash-for-vote scam was let off after being interrogated for nearly four hours on Friday July 22.

The Delhi police had sought permission from the Rajya Sabha to question Amar Singh after he was alleged to be the main planner in the cash-for-vote episode during the 2008 trust vote.

Singh was reportedly confronted with two witnesses namely Sanjeev Saxena and Suhail Hindustani. Both Hindustani and Saxena have already been arrested.

The matter came to the fore when a sting operation conducted by the BJP with the help of a news channel revealed Saxena bribing three Bharatiya Janata Party MPs to abstain from voting at the 2008 trust vote.
