Kundapur: Absconding motorcycle thief arrested after 23 years

Kundapur, Jul 8: A motorcycle thief who had been absconding for 23 years was arrested by Kundapur police at Goa on Thursday.

Shabbir (59), a native of Malpe Tonse, now residing at Goa is the accused arrested. A complaint was filed on him in 2000 of stealing a motorcycle under the limits of Kundapur police station.

Acting on definite information police arrested Shabbir on July 6 and produced him in court. He is sent to 14 days of judicial custody.

ASP Siddalingappa, DySP Belliappa, city police station inspector Nandakumar, SI Prasad Kumar and personnel were involved in the operation.
