Kasargod: Autorickshaw driver killed after vehicle overturns

Kasargod, Jul 9: A tragic accident occurred in Permude on Sunday morning, resulting in the death of an autorickshaw driver after his vehicle overturned.

The deceased has been identified as Kishore, also known as Prakash C H (34), a resident of Chevar Mittadka. He was operating an autorickshaw in Chevar.

At around 11 am, Kishore was returning after dropping off a passenger when his vehicle collided with interlock stones placed near the road, causing it to overturn.

Despite the immediate efforts of locals who rushed to his aid and attempted to free Kishore from underneath the autorickshaw, he unfortunately passed away before reaching Bandyodu Hospital.

The Kumble police have registered a case in connection with the incident.

    Of late these type of auto driver death reports have increased .One reason is better and efficient engines with more power ..while the chassis and body design is not improvised. There has to be seatbelt and side protection bars and a door for the Autoricks . I have seen these modified versions in Goa though without seatbelts.
