Kundapur, Jul 15: Police took into custody a man who got into a moving auto-rickshaw at Koni Moorkai here on Saturday July 15 and caused ruckus.

The auto-rickshaw was on the way from Gopadi to Kavrady. The driver drove slowly near Koni Moorkai as there was stagnant water on the road. Meanwhile, the man who was sitting on the side of the road held the rod of the rear seat and entered into the vehicle. He held the hand of the child sitting behind and pulled him. As the child screamed, the driver saw the unidentified man behind and shouted at him. The man jumped to the driver’s seat and held the handle bar. The driver drove the vehicle to the side of the road and stopped it. Locals gathered and caught hold of the man. The public said that he was speaking in Hindi and was looking to be mentally sick.

Kundapur police who were alerted about the incident, arrived and took the man into custody.

As the suspect was unidentified, more details were not available. Locals said that the auto-rickshaw which could have toppled, stopped at the side of the road because of the wise move of its driver.
