Mangaluru, Jul 18: Deva Matha Yuva Sanchalan (ICYM), Mogarnad Unit had organised 'DEES, YUVA SAMBRAMASO, SAKTHESO SANGATHPONASO' on July 9 at Deva Matha Sabhabhavan.
The dignitaries for the programme were Fr Anil Canute Dmello, parish priest and director of DMYM and St John Paul 2 Deanery, Fr Stany Pinto, campus director and asst professor, St Philomena College, Puttur, Noel Lobo, former animator of DMYM, Santhosh D'Souza and Wilfred Lobo, vice president and secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, Prashant Lewis, animator, ICYM president, Avit Premson Lobo, ICYM secretary, Melvita Christal Pereira were present.
A flashmob was organized first time ever in the history of Mogarnad Parish, by the members of Deva Matha Youth Movement in view of the 'DEES, YUVA SAMBRAMASO, SAKTHESO SANGATHPONASO' 2023. This was to embark the moments of togetherness and to bring in unity among the youth.
The programme began with a hymn led by the members of DMYM. Avit Premson Lobo welcomed the gathering.
The dignitaries inaugurated the event symbolically.
Former DMYM animator, Noel was felicitated for his tremendous service to DMYM as an animator for the past 5 years. Noel expressed his feelings and was overwhelmed by the gesture of the youth. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the youth.
Later Emileana D'Cunha, the co-ordinator of all the commissions of the church and Sr Anne, the superior of Deva Matha Convent were also present for the programme.
Parish priest and director of DMYM Fr Anil Canute D'Mello, was appointed as the director of St John Paul II Deanery. Praveen Dcunha, was newly elected as the president of St John Paul II Deanery and Reshma D'Cunha, unit member of DMYM was elected as the sports secretary of St John Paul II Deanery. They were felicitated to embark on their achievement.
Fr Anil Canute Dmello addressed the gathering. He gave a call to the youth to come up in life and utilise the opportunities to the best of their abilities. He motivated the youth to excel in life.
A token of gratitude was presented to all the guests present for the programme. Secretary Melvita proposed a vote of thanks.
After the formal program, ice breaking session and action songs were conducted for the youths. This was followed by group formation. A total of 8 groups were formed.
A lot of fun activities and games were also conducted by the members of ICYM. Overall it was a fun-filled day which was showered with zeal, enthusiasm and joy. Around 130 youth participated in the programme.
It was a successful programme and all of them enjoyed every bit of the event.
