Kasargod: District registrar found dead in lodge; probe underway

Kasargod, Jul 24: T E Mohammed Ashraf (55), the district registrar, was discovered dead in a hotel room on the outskirts here. Hailing from Malappuram, he was staying at the hotel since July 19.

When he did not emerge from his room in the morning, attempts were made to contact him on his mobile phone. As he did not respond to the calls, hotel staff opened the door to find him collapsed in the room. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for examination, but the doctors pronounced him dead.

Currently, his body is kept at the morgue in Kasargod General Hospital.

Further investigation is underway to determine the cause of his untimely demise.
