Bantwal: Vittal police arrest five accused in Dalit minor girl rape case

Bantwal, Aug 2: Vittal police have arrested five of them accused in the rape incident of a minor Dalit girl.

The arrested accused are identified as Akshay Devadiga (24), who hails from Moodbidri but now a resident of Beripadavu, Kamalaksha Bellatada (30), a resident of Baayaru village's Kojappe, Sukumar Bellatada (28), a resident of Beripadavu, Jayaprakash (38), a resident of Peruvayi and Raja (25), also a resident of Peruvayi.

Akshay was living with his elder brother in Beripadavu and was working as a painter while Kamalaksha was working as a construction labourer and Sukumar was working as a driver.

A POCSO case along with Dalit atrocity has been registered in Vittal police station. It is said that the victim girl had identified the five perpetrators of the crime and the police have arrested all of them.
