Mangaluru: Undertrial escapes from hospital, caught after four days

Mangaluru, Aug 21: Pandeshwar police arrested an undertrial prisoner, who escaped from Wenlock hospital in the city.

Naufal alias S M Naufal (32), is the undertrial prisoner, who is in custody of police now.

Naufal, resident of Sajipanadu of Bantwal was arrested by police in connection with a drugs case registered in Dharmasthala police station. He was lodged in the district prison of the city as an undertrial prisoner. He was taken to Wenlock hospital as he was ill.

On August 16 around 5 pm, Naufal escaped from the hospital hoodwinking the police. He was apprehended on Sunday, August 20 by PSI Manohar Prasad and personnel and was produced in court.
