Kundapur: Assault, threat to life – Woman files complaint against younger sibling

Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (MS)

Kundapur, Sep 12: Sumana, wife of Raghavendra, a resident of Moodlakatte, filed a complaint in the rural police station accusing her younger sister of issuing threat to her life due to the controversy over property and golden ornaments.

Sumana has hotel business in USA and visits Moodlakatte, her native family home, during festivities. She bought a 70 cent land from Koni Vasudeva Hebbar in 2005 for Rs eight lac and registered the same in the name of her younger sister Rohini as the owner of the land was sick. The deal was made on the agreement that the land will be transferred back to complainant Sumana’s name.

A house was built on the same land at a cost of Rs 65 lac. In 2016, complainant Sumana gave four gold bangles and a gold chain weighing nine sovereigns to Rohini to keep the same safely. When Rohini requested Sumana four gold bangles, three sets of ear rings and one finger ring for her daughter to wear, Sumana gave the same on the condition of returning after use. However, when Sumana asked her younger sister Rohini to return the gold ornaments and property to be returned recently, she denied.

It is accused that Rohini and her husband issued life threat against Sumana, when she arrived at her ancestral home at Moodlakatte on Sunday. Rural station police are investigating further.

I find something in this story is unsaid. Why Sumana buy land and register in younger sisters name and say give back later ?Same with gold bangels?I advice Sumana simply leave it to your sister .You have something in USA.sharing is always makes one happy.Dont go to quarrel with your sister. You will not take property when go up.Such quarrels end up very ugly like the one we know .It can end sadly later.

These types of cases are happening Coastal Karnataka. Amongst the siblings, one will be staying back in their own village/ town and others will move to green pastures to Western Countries or middle east or Metro cities. When the land was bought, it might be presumed that the sibling who is in home town, to take care of her parents and the land in turn will be given as gift for all the sacrifice. These type of incidents have happened in many homes. Now all ended in police complaint.

It's American Sisters fault. Full property and gold in position of Younger sisters. Now she has to fight a long battle to get her property back. Lesson for others, don't trust anyone.
