Udupi, Sep 16: Speaking about alleged cheating of several crores of rupees by Hindu activist Chaitra Kundapura, Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar said on Saturday September 16 that no one should use the BJP as pretext for cheating. “I do not know anybody who is already arrested by the CCB officials in the connection of the case. I have not spoken to anybody over the phone also. I have not even met them during any functions or occasions.”
He further said, “It is only an imagination that one can get a ticket in the BJP by paying money. I would not have won four times if tickets were available for money. Strict action should be taken against those who misuse the name of politicians. The police department should take the case to its logical end. Those who are behind the incident and misuse names should be arrested. Collecting money in the name of the party and the politicians is not good for any party.
“The incident is not connected to me and I am prepared for any investigations over it. Strict action should be taken against those who defame the BJP by dragging it into the case,” he said.
