Udupi, Sep 19: The man, whom Chaitra Kundapura is alleged to have duped Rs five lac filed a complaint in Kota police station of Kundapur.
Disclosing all the facts in a press meet in the city on Tuesday September 19, Sudeena, the victim said, “I got acquainted with Chaitra during a Go Raksha Samavesha in 2015. Our relation was like elder brother and younger sister. During this time Chaitra asked me to open a cloth shop. She also took me with her to meet political leaders and made me believe her words. She also said that orders for buntings and saffron shawls during programmes of the Hindu organizations and BJP will be given to me. I worked hard in fishing and made funds.
“I was working in Andhra Pradesh. I gave her money believing my fishing side business. I have proof of the same also. I have already given the same to the police.
“I have given Rs two lac in cash to Chaitra and transferred Rs three lac to her bank account. Later, she only opened a cloth shop in her name. When I questioned she promised me to get another shop opened.
“I did not get any shop even after long time. I was going to conference to listen to her speeches. At last, I asked her to return my money. She threatened to put sexual harassment case on me. I have already given the document to lawyer.
“One of my friend has also given Rs one lac to her after taking loan. He has taken loan in his name but the money is with Chaitra. Many people are duped by her. All have to come forward and file complaint,” he said.
