Mangaluru, Sep 20: In anticipation of the upcoming Ganeshotsava festival, the Deputy Commissioner of Mangaluru has issued an order prohibiting the sale of liquor in wine shops and bars on the days of Shobhayatre and Visarjana rally scheduled in the district.

During this festival, which spans from September 19 to September 29, various religious and cultural events are set to take place, attracting numerous devotees, including a significant number of women and children.

To ensure the maintenance of law and order and prevent any untoward incidents during these events, DC Mullai Muhilan has directed that wine shops and bars remain closed from 12 pm to 12 am on the respective days of the programs.
