Mangaluru: ‘Honeywell Cyber Security Workshop’ in collaboration with ICT Academy inaugurated at SAC

Mangaluru, Oct 18: Marking a pivotal moment in the academic calendar, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), formally inaugurated the ‘Honeywell Cyber Security Workshop’ in collaboration with ICT Academy on October 16. The MAGIS Hall in the administrative block served as the venue for this momentous event. The workshop is spanned for 14 days from October 13 to 31, fostering an extensive hands-on learning experience for the 60 students in attendance. The distinguished gathering included Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, principal, Dr Alwyn D'Sa, registrar, Dr Charles V Furtado, director of administrative block, Dr Ravindraswami, dean of computer application and animation, Shilpa Shetty, HoD of computer application and animation, Sohan Simha, workshop resource person, ICT Academy representatives Vignesh Shetty, relationship manager-Mangaluru region and Sony Punnoose, associate-project implementation-Karnataka region.


Commencing with a soulful prayer song by Rakshitha and her team from III BCA 'A,' the ceremony exuded a sense of purpose and reflection, setting the tone for the transformative journey ahead.

A pivotal moment during the ceremony was the handing over of the certificate of ‘Center of Excellence for Youth Empowerment’ in cyber security skills. Representatives from ICT Academy, Vignesh Shetty and Sony Punnose presented this prestigious recognition to Dr Praveen Martis SJ, the principal, symbolizing the college's commitment to fostering excellence in cybersecurity education. Notably, the mentors of the workshop were also in attendance, underscoring their dedication to both the program and its inauguration.

The presidential remarks by Dr Praveen Martis SJ, and insightful talks by the registrar and the resource person, Sohan Simha, further enriched the occasion, leaving an indelible mark on the collective pursuit of cybersecurity proficiency at St Aloysius College.

Osheen from III BCA skilfully compered the programme, ensuring a seamless flow throughout. Jyothi from III BCA, delivered the welcome address, articulated gratitude and emphasized the workshop's significance in elevating cybersecurity education. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Vanessa of III BCA expressing appreciation to all contributors and underscoring the collective vision for a more secure digital future.
