Mangaluru, Oct 24: The bishop of Mangalore Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, made a cordial visit to Kudroli temple, on the occasion of Dasara festival on Monday October 23.
The visit was organised as a gesture of religious harmony on a invite by Padmaraj R, treasurer, Kudroli Gokarnantheshwara Kshetra.
In his message, the bishop highlighted the need for harmony in the society and appreciated the teachings of Shri Narayana Guru, the founder of Kudroli temple.
The Kudroli festival also known as the Mangaluru Dusshera is now world famous and is second only to the renowned Mysore Dusshera.
The bishop also acknowledged that Mangaluru Dusshera is now a festival of people of all faiths and religions. True to the teachings of the great sage who believed in one caste, one religion, one God, the temple has now become a place of unity and communal harmony, he said.
