Beltangady: Cow falls into underground drainage, rescued by locals

Beltangady, Nov 7: A cow got stuck inside underground drainage as the slab on it got broken on November 6.

There is underground drainage of town panchayat through which the waste water flows in the land that belongs to the agricultural department. The slab on it is too old and was almost broken. A cow which was grazing nearby stepped on it and fell into the drain that was 10 meter deep. Locals informed town panchayat as well as the fire service personnel.

An excavator was procured and the cow was lifted from the drain after two hours of operation. The cow received minor injuries.
