Mangaluru: Brevera Technologies reaches 10th anniversary milestone

Media Release

Mangaluru, Nov 11: The city-based electronics startup Brevera Technologies Pvt Ltd, observed its 10th anniversary milestone with a function to felicitate its 120+ employees who have been the key contributors to the company’s growth. The function was held on November 4, at Hotel Sai Palace. The company’s mentor, senior chartered accountant K Sham Bhat, was the chief guest.

In his address to the gathering, Sham Bhat appreciated the achievement of the company in establishing market leadership in several niche segments. “Many businesses start out with big dreams but eventually lose their way and settle for less. What distinguishes successful startups from mediocre ones is their unflinching focus on their goals. It is vital for startups to remain steadfast and loyal to their original vision in the face of continuous challenges,” he observed.

Among the company’s 120+ employees who were felicitated, the key executives from different departments, Chethan Hegde, Gayathri Bangera, Prashanth K B, Praveen K. G, Sheela P, Triveni, Vageesha S and Veekshitha, were accorded special recognitions. Lohith, Nabin and Bibin of Brevera’s outsourcing partners, Tycoon Innovative Technology of Mysore, were also felicitated.

Brevera Technologies Pvt Ltd, began its journey on October 22, 2013 in a small apartment in Mangaluru under the leadership of two young engineers and entrepreneurs, Venugopala P K and Venkatesh P V.

Electronics is a highly underdeveloped field in the country. The company's goal is to provide innovative solutions to existing product manufacturers using the latest advances in electronics. It designs and manufactures printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) for mass-market products like stabilisers, water purifiers, water geysers, weighing scales, battery chargers, and taxi meters. It provides solutions for consumer products, business products, and industrial products to help save energy, reduce costs and increase functionality.

After facing huge setbacks and challenges in its initial years, the company made a breakthrough in the last five years. Today, Brevera is an ISO 9001:2015-certified Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) with an in-house R&D facility and testing unit in Mangaluru, a box building plant and a component storage facility in Mysuru. In 2018, Brevera entered into a prestigious collaboration with Holtek Semiconductors, Taiwan, as a third-party design house.

Today, Brevera produces more than one million stabiliser cards per year. Over 25% of stabilisers sold in India use Brevera circuits, and its PCBA solutions have helped reduce the failure rate of voltage stabilisers exponentially, along with providing cost optimisation.

Brevera is the ODM of choice for one of the leading water purifier brands in India and has enabled it to achieve 25% cost optimisation along with increasing reliability. In weighing scales, the cards developed by Brevera have increased measuring accuracy by 240%, enabling 20% BOM optimisation, and the company enjoys nearly 20% domestic market share.

Sharmila welcomed the gathering and compered the programme. Sainath Prabhu gave a vote of thanks. The formal function was followed by a variety entertainment programme. A video recording of the company’s journey was screened.
