Beltangady: Children's Day celebration at Holy Redeemer School

Belthangady, Nov 15: Children's day was celebrated with splendour in Holy Redeemer School on Wednesday, November 15 in the school auditorium. The program began by seeking God's grace though a hymn sung by the teachers. Teacher Mary Suja heartily welcomed the gathering.

To symbolise the school motto 'Light to life', a lamp was lit and to commemorate the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, a floral tribute to his potrait was paid by correspondent Fr Walter D'Mello, headmaster, Fr Clifford Pinto, PTA vice president Supriya D'Souza, school pupil leader Dhravya Bhandary and assistant school pupil leader Nijith.

Teacher Elvita Maria Pais spoke on the significance of Children's Day on behalf of all the teachers and student Janice Bennis of class 9 expressed her thoughts on the special day on behalf of all teh children.

The winners of classwise lucky games conducted on the occasion of Children's Day were felicitated.

The correspondent and headmaster, in their address, called on the children to be responsible and dutiful towards their school, family and society. Teachers entertained the children through their wonderful dances and singing.

Among the teachers at the programme, Vidhyashree proposed a vote of thanks, Saritha Rodrigues announced the lucky winners' names and Jonita Correa compered the programme.

The programme was successful conducted with the cooperation and active involvement of all the staff and concluded with serving of refreshments.
