Puttur, Nov 18: The department of physics, Center for PG Studies and Research, St Philomena College, organized a day-long workshop on ‘KSET General Paper’ on November, 7. Distinguished experts in their respective fields delivered insightful lectures on various topics related to the KSET general paper. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, principal of the college presided over the formal programme and urged the participants to make the maximum benefit so as to face the competitive world which they are compelled to explore in the near future soon after the completion of studies.
The workshop commenced with a session on ‘Higher Education System: Governance, Polity, and Administration’, conducted by Bharath Kumar A, dean of arts, St Philomena PU College. He emphasized the hierarchy, governance and accreditation of higher education institutes in India.
The second session was led by Prasanna Kumar C, HOD of social work at Government First Grade College, Vittal. He provided a comprehensive overview of the concepts of KSET and NET and delivered a compelling talk on ‘Teaching Aptitude’.
Karthik K, research scholar, department of mathematics, Mangalore University, conducted the session on ‘Mathematical Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning’.
Prasanna Kumar C continued with two topics of the KSET general paper, ‘Research Aptitude and Communication’.
The topic on ‘ICT’ was covered by Govinda Prakash, the coordinator of the PG department of computer science.
The workshop saw active participation from faculty and students of post graduate departments of physics, mathematics, computer science, and social work.
Convener of the workshop Vipin Naik N S, the coordinator of the PG department of physics, assistant professors, Srimani and Prathibha K were responsible for the conduct of an educational workshop.
