Brahmavar: Cooperatives’ sports event ‘Souharda Sambhrama 2023’ held

Brahmavar, Dec 2: SCDCC Bank chairman M N Rajendra Kumar said that participation and sportsmanship are more important than defeat and victory.

He spoke on Saturday December 2 at Chetana High School Stadium in Hangarakatte by inaugurating the sports event of district cooperatives under Udupi Zilla Souharda Cooperative Union and State Souharda Samyukta Cooperative ‘Souharda Sambhrama 2023’. He said that sports should be energizing for the co-operatives who are engaged in business throughout the year.

MLA and fishing federation president Yashpal Suvarna said that sports is a platform for talent show. In addition, he said, “Unity and healthy environment leads to good mood. The cooperatives’ contribution to the country's economy is unique.”

State Souharda Samyukta Cooperative director Manjunath S K presided over the event.

State Souharda Samyukta Cooperative managing director Sharan Gowda G Patil, director Bharti G Bhatt, Kundapur MLA Gururaj Gantihole, SCDCC director Raju Pujari, co-operative union director Sridhara P S, sports coordinator Ashok Prabhu Saibrakatte were present.

Amparu Jagannath Shetty, district president of Souharda Cooperative Union welcomed. Satishchandra compered the event.

Kaup, Udupi, Brahmavar, Byndoor, Hebri, Karkala and Kundapur taluks were formed into 7 zones. More than 2,000 friendly co-operatives, including the management board of the co-operative, members and non-members, participated in the sports festival. Honours and awards were given to cooperative achievers.
