Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (MS)

Puttur, Dec 12: A sign board with the message "Remove burqa and come in" affixed to the door of the ECG room in the ICU ward of a taluk hospital has stirred a heated controversy, drawing both support and criticism on social media. The contentious sign, in place for a year, gained widespread attention after a photo was shared online, triggering a significant online discussion.

For and against posts flooded social media platforms, reflecting diverse opinions on the appropriateness of such a message in a hospital setting.

The debate eventually prompted the hospital authorities to take swift action, leading to the removal of the controversial sign board.

The Next one is...... Court Verdict on Burga issue soon. Yes, we need to give them freedom whatever you want to wear..... but don't give religious touch for everything...... and same time we need to follow the certain set rules and regulations too. One of my uncle, never visited one such Temple in Udupi region..... just because we are told to remove shirt while going inside the Temple..... His wife and entire family going inside the Temple but he was standing outside always!!!

DID YOU KNOW ? Unclean white coats worn by doctors and other staff in hospitals are emerging as the biggest sources of infections. What’s even more worrying is that the bacteria and fungus present in these coats A study, published in the recent issue of the in Medical Sciences, says that 94% of white coats used in hospitals are contaminated by dangerous bacteria and fungus like Aspergillus, which lead to nosocomial (hospital-acquired) infections.

We can not conclude that this was deliberately done... It is an ICU and has its own dress protocol... Probably it could have been worded better... They must be facing immense number of relatives visiting the ICU... Giving religious angle to every procedural protocol of secured zones like hospital ICU can be avoided...

For ECG, if the burqa needs to be removed, it can be done AFTER ENTERING the room also. ECG room in Puttur hospital is not different from other hospitals.
