Udupi, Dec 13: Burglars broke into a residence in Puttur, Udupi, and made off with jewellery valued at Rs 2.5 lac. The victim, Shashikanth of Puttur, Udupi, discovered the theft when he woke up on December 10 to find the house doors ajar.

Upon entering the room of the deity for morning prayers, Shashikanth noticed that the items used for pooja were scattered. Shockingly, gold and silver ornaments kept in the deity's room had been stolen by the intruders who gained access by breaking and entering through the back door. The back door showed signs of forced entry, likely using an unidentified tool.
