United Pangalites confer ‘Karavali Kogul’ title on Anil D’Sa, Pangla at mega 20th anniversary event

Dubai, Dec 18: The much-talked about event ‘Rock N’ Laugh’ was held on December 10 at Movenpick Hotel, Oud Metha Ballroom, Dubai organized by United Pangalites (UPA) in association with Tru Events.

It was a house full show. The excitement was filled in the ballroom and could be seen in the audience. The extravaganza day introduced first time in UAE, ‘Anil D’Sa, Pangla’.

The programme commenced on time by gracing with a prayer dance, performed by teenagers of Pangla. This was followed by video presentation of 20 years journey with all the activities of United Pangalites. The mesmerising theme song of Pangla was played during the event which gained the hearts of the entire audience, composed by Melwyn D’Souza along with Patson Pereira. As Pangla is well-known for its jasmine flowers, the master of ceremony Roshan D’silva begun the show with honouring the beauty of distinguished personalities of Pangla in the form of a poem and welcomed the gathering. With an engaging and vibrant stage presence, he effortlessly guided the event, seamlessly connected with the audience, and created an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation.

The entertainment at the dazzling event began with the amazing musical live performance from popular singers of the UAE, Aenson Mathias (Golden Voice of UAE), Sabitha Mathias (Winner Gulf Voice of Mangalore), Sonam Lotlikar (Goan Melody Queen), Joseph Mathias (Gulf Karnataka Ratna) and Melwyn Dsouza along with his talented bandmates under the name Bandscape – Darrel Mascarenhas, Patson Pereira, Floid Craig Pereira and Prashanth. They performed a soothing session and paid their tribute to legendary singers which took the audiences back to the musical era of the legends time.

As the much-awaited singing sensation Anil D’Sa entered the stage, he lifted the mood and enthralled the music lovers of UAE with his sensational singing and mesmerizing performances. He treated his fans to an unmissable live event showcasing his highly acclaimed vocal style and heart to heart connected songs such as Mariola, Voran Vazloli, Ninnindale (Kannada song) and sensational Medley.

The star attraction and highlight of the show was 'Private Challenge' with famous Duo, Aravind Bolar and Walter Nandalike, who have presented numerous comedy shows on Daijiworld TV for the past few years. The famed duo presented the first-ever LIVE Private Challenge show at the event which created a laughter riot and glued the audiences on to their seats. They were exceptional with their comics and rib-tickling humour with a meaningful message. Audiences were filled with big laughs with their spontaneous banter.

As a token of honour, Anil D’Sa, Pangla was conferred by the title, ‘Karavali Kogul’ by United Pangalites. On this occasion, Walter Nandalike – founder & editor-in-chief of Daijiworld media, Nelson Rodricks, Joseph Mathias – MD of Merit Freight Shipping along with UPA founder president, Michael Castelino, past president Joel Quadras and current president Venil Vaz, felicitated Anil D’Sa with shawl, flower garland, Peta, Flower bouquet, fruits Basket and memento with the title ‘Karavali Kogul’.

Walter Nandalike & Aravind Bolar were also felicitated during the event with shawl and memento for their enthralling performance along with Bandscape artists.

Venil Vaz, the current president of United Pangalites (UPA) welcomed the gathering and it was followed by felicitation programme to thank all the sponsors and well-wishers for their generous support for the event along with Michael Castelino, the founder President of United Pangalites (UPA). Many individuals and companies supported the event. UPA is grateful to all the sponsors, well-wishers for their support in making the event grand success.

Highly acclaimed local talented musicians of Bandscape amazed the audiences with their scintillating performances and enchanted electrifying beats. Melwyn Dsouza kept the crowd entertained with his non-stop baila songs. His performance left a mark among the crowd. Other entertainment during the event were, dances performed by the dance troupe SHOW TIME, spot prizes for the audience, Santa Claus entry with raffle draw which entertained the crowd during the live show with their foot tapping moves.

Overall, the crowd enjoyed the event immensely as the venue was packed and unremittingly busting with riots of enjoyment. The organizers were overwhelmed with the support from audiences that arrived from all over UAE, Oman and Kuwait. The event had created tremendous applauds among the Konkani lovers audiences and created a wave of multicultural fan base of the artistes. A houseful audience of over 400 witnessed the show and slated the show to be a mega-hit with an upbeat positive response from the audiences and sponsors towards the event. The show was appreciated by one and all.

The non-stop 6-hour event was full of entertainment and comedy and was served along with 5-star gourmet lunch which started on time and ended on time.

Congratulations to Anil D'Sa, Pangla/Shankerpura on being facilitated with momento and conferred with 'Karavali Kogul' by United Pangalites Association (UPA), Dubai. Also Congrats to the famous Duo, Aravind Bolar and Walter Nandalike for presenting the popular ‘Private Challenge' live to the great pleasure of the audience. Hope you all had a good time.
