Mangalore, Sep 14:
The Mangalore police commissionerate on Wednesday September 14 introduced police outposts in as many as 10 places around the city and outskirts. A formal installation ceremony was held near Nantoor junction.

The police outposts have been installed at Nantoor, Mannagudda, Mulky, Thokkottu, Gurupura-Kaikamba, near DC’s office, service bus stand and other places.

Corporator Roopa D Bangera inaugurated the outpost in the presence of police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and other senior police officers like DCPs M Mutthuraya and D Dharmaiah, ACPs Ravindra Gadadi and T R Jagannath among others.

Seemanth Kumar Singh told reporters that the outposts will start functioning round-the-clock once enough recruitments are done. Now people can approach the police personnel to lodge complaints or in case of any emergency. The outposts are furnished and have facilities like bathrooms.

Police personnel will work in shifts, he said, adding that the Nantoor outpost will be equipped with CCTV. These outposts will also provide shelter to police in rain and shine, he said.
