Beltangady: Five youths arrested for illegally transporting 42 SIM cards

Beltangady, Feb 4: The police have arrested five youths who were on their way to Bengaluru for some secretive work along with 42 mobile SIM cards.

The youths were arrested by the Dharmsthala police. The team of youths were apprehended at Thotattadi of Neriya village of Beltangady on February 1.

The arrested youths are identified as Rameez (20), Akbar Ali (24), Mohammed Mustafa (22), Mohammed Sadiq (27) and a 17-year-old minor boy.

Akbar Ali was in Dubai for two years and had returned to his native place just four months ago. He had bought illegal SIM cards when he was in Dubai itself. He had bought them under various names using fake ID.

As there is an overseas connection in this case, the police have resorted to a more intense and deeper investigation.
