Beltangady: 24-year-old loses life in bus-two wheeler collision

Beltangady, Feb 5: A tragic incident unfolded near Manjotti on Sunday February 4when a two-wheeler rider lost his life in a collision with a private bus on the road from Laila to Kajoor.

The deceased is identified as Dharanendra Poojary (24), a resident of Parari near Manjotti, and the son of Umesh Poojary.

Dharanendra was on his way home to Manjotti from Beltangady when a speeding private bus collided with his two-wheeler, resulting in him being trapped beneath the bus. Local residents made valiant efforts to extricate him and rushed him to the Ujire hospital. Despite attempts to shift him to Mangaluru for advanced treatment, Dharanendra succumbed to his injuries en route.

Reports indicate that Dharanendra, employed as a mason, played a crucial role as the main support for his family, particularly as his father is physically disabled.

A case related to the incident has been registered at the Beltangady traffic police station.
