Sullia, Feb 5: Dissatisfaction has surfaced within the BJP block in Sullia following the appointment of Venkat Valalambe as the president of Sullia Mandala. In protest, BJP workers have locked the party office to express their discontent.

Discontent has grown within the current Mandal committee and core committee after Venkat Valalambe was reappointed as the president of the BJP mandal committee. Tensions had already been simmering among party workers over the denial of the Loksabha election ticket to S Angara. Their dissatisfaction further intensified when Venkat Valalambe, who had resigned from his post due to differences with the party policy, was elected to lead the Sullia Mandala Samithi for the second time. Activists have criticized the party leaders for not appointing the candidate recommended by the core committee during their meeting.

These differences came to light during a meeting on Sunday, where party leaders and office bearers from various committees of the block were present.

Earlier, the name of Vinay Mulugadu had been proposed for the position of president by the mandala committee. Activists have alleged that those who have dedicatedly served the party for an extended period have been overlooked.
