Thousands converge to share grievances with CM Siddaramaiah in 'Jana Spandana' event


Bengaluru, Feb 8 (IANS): Thousands of people from across the state flocked to Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru to attend the 'Jana Spandana' programme and submit their grievances to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday.

This marks the second mega public outreach programme led by CM Siddaramaiah. An official statement from the CM’s office mentioned, "People began pouring in from faraway places since the previous night. As the crowd started gathering early in the morning, the application registration process commenced ahead of the scheduled time at 8:30 a.m."

 

Recognizing the higher-than-expected influx of people at the Revenue Department Counter, organisers opened an additional counter for Revenue Department applicants and made seating arrangements.

Bengaluru Central DCP Shekhar deployed 936 personnel to control the crowd. This included eight ACPs, 23 Inspectors, 58 Sub-Inspectors, 205 Police Constables, 142 WPCs, and 500 Home Guards stationed at the venue.

CM Siddaramaiah is set to participate in the Jana Spandana programme until 6 p.m. The state government has also arranged lunch for all attendees.

The Chief Minister has directed officials to ensure that the complaints and grievances submitted during the Janaspandana must be resolved within three months. If they cannot be resolved due to any reason, appropriate endorsements will be issued to the persons concerned clearly stating the reasons.

Some of the grievances that were brought to the notice of the Chief Minister and the action taken on the issue:

  • Sharana Basava Kumar of Kampli taluk in Ballari district approached with request for financial assistance to take up self-employment as he has lost eyesight in both eyes. He was assured assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
  • Rajesh N of Mysuru Government College appealed for making his job permanent. He was assured of action after examining the application.
  • Cancer patient Chowdeshwari of Nelamangala sought financial assistance for surgery. She was assured of help from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
  • Shantibai of Madagashira in Tumkuru sought financial assistance for treatment of her mentally retarded son. She was assured of help.
  • 3-year-old Shushant of Raichuru, who was brought by his mother Lalitha for treatment of Thalesemia sought financial assistance. She was assured help the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
  • M Shridhar of JJ Nagar in Bengaluru sought financial assistance for treatment as both kidneys had failed. He was assured of help.
  • A double-degree holder physically handicapped resident of Bengaluur Navyashree had come with her mother Ramamani for employment. The Chief minister directed the officials to consider the application during the job fair.
  • Physically challenged Sathyanarayana sought financial assistance for dialysis and was assure of help.
  • Suresh Thukaram Fonde of Belagavi sought Chief minister’s help to prevent one Deepak Patil from unauthorisedly taking mud from his plot and wanted a theft case to be registered. The Chief Minister Directed the City Police Commissioner Dayananda to look into the issue.

    While good move STRictly it means down the line officer s not doing their jobs ... ... possible asking bribes. ETc. Or Red Tape Officers should be suspended wherever CM has intervened Fear will go down the other officers spine
