Bengaluru, Feb 8: Leader of Opposition in Assembly R Ashoka has accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as a ‘’habitual liar’’ for his statement that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was never born in the OBC and got his caste notified as OBC after becoming Gujarat chief minister.
‘’But the fact is PM Modi's caste was notified as an OBC on October 27, 1999, that is 2 years before he became the chief minister of Gujarat,’’ he said, adding: ‘’This is yet another insult to the OBC community by @INCIndia and OBCs will teach a lesson to the Congress party in the Lok Sabha polls.’’
'Janaspandana indicates administrative failure'
The BJP leader attacked the ruling Congress government for projecting the massive turnout at the second mega Janaspandana in front of Vidhana Soudha and termed it as an indication of the failure of the administration that people have to come all the way to Bengaluru to seek redressal of their grievances.
Ashoka said Karnataka has 34 cabinet ministers and in-charge ministers for all the 31 districts. There are 34 chairmen for boards and corporations with cabinet rank and also deputy commissioners and the zilla panchayat chief executive officers. In the decentralised system of administration, there are district and taluk level local bodies.
‘’If with all these persons, if the people have to come all the way to Bengaluru, it shows the government’s inefficiency and administrative failure. Why can’t the mass contact programmes be conducted in all constitueuncies, districts and taluks by the officers, ministers and legislators and on the spot decisions on redressal of grievances be taken?’’ he asked.
