Udupi, Feb 19: A Bible exhibition was held at the St Anne's church Thottam, on Sunday, February 18. The exhibition was organized under the joint organization of Bible, Gospel media and Social Communication Commission of the church.
The exhibition was started by placing the Holy Bible with special respect in the center of the hall, offering prayers and sprinkling holy water at the exhibition premises.
Fr Denis D'Sa, parish priest said, "The only GPS for the spiritual life of the Christian community is the Holy Bible. The Bible is the easiest way for a person to come to God when he stumbles in life, when he is in pain. The purpose of the Bible exhibition is to educate the children and elders of the church through entertainment. Along with gaining knowledge about the holy book of our religion, we should also have the habit of reading the holy scriptures of other religions. Then it will help us to respect other religions. The summary of the holy scriptures of every religion is to love God and love your neighbour."
Stephen Rodrígues, deacon addressing the faithful said, "About 90 Holy Bible books of different languages and countries have been kept in this exhibition. Apart from this, models were created based on various stories in the Bible, poster exhibition and quiz are also organized."
Rita Rodrigues, who participated in the exhibition, said, "The exhibition was very neat and it was a good opportunity to learn about the Holy Bible. This was the first time I had the opportunity to see Bible texts in so many languages. She said that this exhibition made to understand the scriptures through Bible models is really helpful."
The vice-president of the church pastoral commitee, secretary, coordinators of 20 commissions, nuns, office bearers of Bible, gospel media, social communication commission were present.
