Udupi, Feb 19: Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna highlighted the ban on sanctioning of 11-E sketches for non-farm lands by an order of the deputy commissioner in the Assembly session.
He mentioned in the House that the people of the district are facing serious problems due to the order issued by the deputy commissioner to quash the 11-E mapping process in the area with less than 50 cents, which is applicable only to Udupi district and demanded that this order be withdrawn immediately.
He also appealed to the revenue minister to change the existing rule of providing the document of residence prior to 2015 to 2019 to facilitate thousands of eligible poor families of the district and in the state to avail the title deed to the eligible poor families who are deprived of the same.
Yashpal Suvarna also highlighted the issues faced by the co-operative sector and said in order to empower the co-operative sector which plays an important role in the economic system of the state, he wished to propose in the House that the government should take measures to improve by opening government accounts in the co-operative institutions, establish co-operative court in each district and reserve four seats for representatives of the co-operative sector in the legislative council.
