Bengaluru, Feb 20: The alliance of BJP and JDS might be a political ploy to polarize the voters but the people have rejected it, claimed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday.
Warmly congratulating the Congress candidate Puttanna, who had quit his MLC seat in BJP before the assembly polls and had contested as a Congress candidate, has won with an overwhelming majority and it is a vindication of the nine month Congress rule, Siddaramaiah said.
The Chief Minister said the educated voters of Bengaluru Teachers Constituency have rejected the alliance between BJP and JDS.
Though BJP and JDS had fielded a common candidate as part of the deal between former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda and his son H D Kumaraswamy, former Chief Minister, to protect their family interests, the voters have rejected it completely.
After their rout in the assembly polls, the alliance among BJP and JDS for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls will also meet the same fate and the Gowda family will definitely give up their saffron shawl, Siddaramaiah said.
