Uttar Pradesh, Feb 25: Alakh Pandey boasts a net worth of Rs 2,000 crore, establishing himself as one of the wealthiest teachers in India today.

Pandey is a well-known figure in the Indian education sector, having founded Physics Wallah, India's 101st Unicorn company.

Initially drawn to acting, Pandey engaged in street plays. However, due to his family's financial struggles, he began offering tuitions from the eighth grade. To support Alakh and his sister's education, his parents even sold their property.

Despite financial hardships, Alakh excelled academically, securing 93.5% in 12th grade and 91% in SSLC. His teaching journey commenced with a modest salary of Rs 5,000 for tuitions.

Although Alakh aspired to study at IIT, he couldn't crack the entrance exam. Consequently, he enrolled in Harcourt Butler Technical Institute in Kanpur but dropped out in the third year.

During the Covid pandemic, Alakh initiated video creation from a small rented room in Uttar Pradesh. His videos gained immense popularity, leading him to establish his own education company, where over 500 teachers and 100 technicians are currently employed. With over one crore subscribers on YouTube, Alakh Pandey has transformed from a modest teacher to a highly successful entrepreneur in the education sector.
