Mumbai: Littérateur Ravi Ra Anchan’s Kannada Book ‘Nelamugilu’ Released

“If we forget our roots, we will have no future. Thus, we must know our history. Those who fought for us are indeed worthy.  Our traditions are being hijacked by others and we are turning into untouchables,” analyzed veteran environmentalist and pro-people campaigner Kalkuli Vittal Heggade.
 
He was speaking at the release of ‘Nelamugilu’, a Kannada book authored by renowned litterateur Ravi Ra Anchan, held at Karnataka Sangh auditorium on Saturday September 24.  It was jointly organized by Tulu Kannadiga Hitachintakara Vedike and Veerakesari Kalavranda.
 


Kannada Patrakartara Sangh Maharastra president Chandrashekar Palettady inaugurated the programme. Lawyer Gunakar D Shetty presided over the programme.
 
Veteran hoteliers Prabhakar N Shetty and Chandrahas Shetty Sringeri were the chief guests on the occasion. Ashok R Suvarna, editor, ‘Mogaveera’ monthly, read the foreword of the book.
 
Ravi Ra Anchan briefly explained the contents of the book that sheds light on transition of natives of Tulunadu from the Iron Age, in folklore, and worship of the divine forces. Shailaja Ravi Anchan was also present.
 
Veerakesari Kalavaranda president Ramesh Shetty Payyar welcomed the gathering.  Hitachintaka Vedike president Jayaram L Shetty delivered the introductory address.
 
Cultural programmes were staged by Ragabhoomi Nerul, Ganesh Kumar Borivali, Sukanya Bhat, and Niriksha Shetty of Radhakrishna Nratya Academy on the occasion.
 
Vishwanat R Shetty Petri compered the programme.
