Mangaluru: St Gerosa school controversy – Investigation officer submits report

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Mar 8: The inquiry into the accusation of a derogatory statement made by a teacher at a private educational institute in Valencia, located in the city, has been completed by the investigation officer. The officer has subsequently submitted the report to the government.

Dr Akash Shankar, additional commissioner of the school education department of Kalaburagi division, was deputed by the government as the investigation officer for this case. It has been reported that Dr Akash has submitted the investigation report to Ritesh Kumar Singh, the chief secretary of the department.

Dr Akash conducted the inquiry from February 19 to 21 at the district education officer's office. He gathered statements from various individuals, including the complainant, the school's administrative board, teachers, parents of students, students themselves, and eminent leaders of Hindu organizations.

In a related development, the police have filed FIRs against MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Dr Bharath Shetty, two members of the Mangaluru City Corporation, and leaders of Hindu organizations. These actions were taken following the circulation of an audio clip accusing the teacher of making derogatory remarks about the Hindu religion, with allegations of provocative speeches being made near the school gate.

Addressing reporters, MLA Vedavyas Kamath commented, "The report should be made public. Parents of students and students have submitted written reports to the investigating officer. There is a possibility that these written reports may be altered. Therefore, the government should release the report with the original handwriting to the public."

Dear Kamath, there is no need of any investigation report for your aggressive and egoistic behavior which is against the "women" and " children" dignity and dignity of a MLA. Everything is visible.

Bihar was once a highly educated and prosperous state; sadly it could not sustain that fame. Many erstwhile prosperous nations now ruined for they gave in to fanatic vested interest people. Hitler was also one among them. Where are we heading?

By giving press statements to release the report to the public Mr Vedavyas Kamath cannot escape the long arm of the law from taking action against him for his unacceptable behaviour in front of the school. The Government ought to have taken action against him, Dr Bharath Shetty and others by now. Why the Government is dragging its feet has surprised the citizens.

I was shocked to know teachers celebrate their own birthdays in classroom and students give birthday gifts to class teacher. This is unacceptable. This is the root cause for many issues. Abdulkalam once said when he visited Aloysius college in his speech "students make oadh that you will never receice a gift because no one gives a gift without a motive or agenda". Why uniforms for primary and highschools? To treat in equality. Then why crlebrate teachers birthday in the classroom and receiving gifts fron students?

Here the problem is not religion I think Prabha teacher may be strict That's why students made a plan to remove her somehow They brought religion in front with union of other students. Best thing is who involved in the conflict those students must give TC and send off from school for the next academic year

Let's be honest here the education system is the problem here if a teacher tells something so hateful and students don't have direct evidence to prove her mistakes then it's a sign that education system has failed us and teachers these days are frauds.

Has the teacher Sr. Pratibha spoken anything wrong? Shee was only focusing on the poem. The lady compliant's (Kavita) daughter was not in the class, it was the friend of Kavita's daughter who passed the message to Kavita's daughter and then to Kavita. How can we believe the message from the girl in class? there might be so many misinterpretations & finally to the protests who are only waiting for some masala and add some garam masala.

Once a Gerosian always a gerosian.Started my early childhood days in Gerosa. This school taught us the best of best in life . The class starts with a one minute silence prayers and thereafter with the class activities. The teachers were always kind enough and they would see every student progress and come out in flying colours.Such was the care.

Mr.Kamath is an absolute disgrace to the people of Mangalore. Instead of focusing on important issues like infrastructure and development, He is too busy stirring up communal tensions. How many potholes have he actually seen in Mangalore? Probably none, considering he drive around in his fancy 4x4. Stop creating unnecessary problems for our children, let them live in peace and harmony like we did back in our school days when Muslims and Hindus got along just fine. Get your act together and start actually doing something beneficial for the people you are supposed to be serving.
