Parish Priest of Bondel Church, Fr Andrew D’Souza inaugurated and presided over the day long function.  Dr Ronald Cutinha, spiritual advisor, SSVP Mangalore Central Council was the chief guest of the occasion.  In his address, Dr Cutinha said that voluntary service is not an option but compulsion without seeking glorification and is also an inspiration to those conferences lagging behind in doing justice to the SSVP.

Brother Sunil Stevan Vas, president of St Francis Assisi Area Council (North) Mangalore welcomed the gathering.

Brother Albert Sequeira, president of SSVP Mangalore Central Council, Brother Ronald Lasrado, president of SSVP, Bondel conference were also present on the dais.

Brother Ronald proposed the vote of thanks. Brother Joachim D’Souza, vice president of Mangalore North Area Council conducted the programme.

About 500 people took part in the day’s activity and this included members of 11 conferences covered by St Francis Assisi Area Council (North) Mangalore, benefactors, honorary and retired members and aided families.

There were skits presented by members on the life of St Vincent de Paul reminding the members of their responsibility towards SSVP.  The function was concluded by Holy Eucharist celebrated by Dr Ronald Cutinha during which the members had to re-dedicate themselves in the service of the poor following the life of their late Saint.
